Bam Aquino Gumawa ng Batas na Magbibigay sa mga Foreign Missionaries ng Permanenteng Tirahan sa Ating Bansa

Senator Bam Aquino IV recently pushed for the passage of Senate Bill No. 702 or the Permanent Residency to Qualified Religious Workers Act, which seeks to give permanent residency to foreign religious workers and missionaries in the country.

This, in light of the order to deport Australian nun Patricia Fox.

Aquino says that it is only right to grant them permanent residence because of the contributions they have made towards the marginalized Filipino’s welfare.

“Foreign religious workers have sacrificed a lot, including leaving the comfort of their homes and their families, just to serve the Filipino people. These are devoted individuals who intend to live the rest of their lives serving the Filipino people,” Aquino said in the bill.

Aquino is vocal against the order of deportation of Fox, saying that she is here to help poor Filipinos by fighting for their cause.

“Binalewala ng administrasyon ang ilang taong pagtulong ni Sister Patricia Fox sa mahihirap na Pilipino dahil siya’y nakikiisa sa kanilang ipinaglalaban. Lantaran na ang panggigipit sa mga taong lumalaban at hindi sunud-sunuran,” said Aquino.
